What manufacturers does Ignis design?

We primarily design Notifier, EST, FireLite, and Silent Knight. We do not design Siemens systems. There are several smaller manufacturers that we can accommodate as well.

What Jurisdictions do you design for?

Anywhere in the state of Texas. Though we are familiar with several other states.

What do you need to do a design?

We cannot design your system without .dwg or Cad files. We also need the construction drawings to include architectural, reflected ceiling plans, mechanical, electrical, sprinkler (new construction is typically a preliminary), and a list of devices sold. We do not need the pricing of what was sold.

Why do you need all of those documents?

Architectural drawings will have information not typically shown on cad files such as special notes that may affect the system design, wall materials, and fire rated walls.

Reflected ceiling plans show the ceiling construction, ceiling heights that effect design criteria, and notes that may include conduit requirements.

Mechanical drawings show locations of smoke dampers and fire smoke dampers, hvac schedules with CFM ratings, and will have notes regarding who is supplying duct detectors or requirements for units that are above code minimum.

Electrical drawings will typically have some form of a pre-engineered fire alarm system. This is great in helping preplan locations and showing special systems not typically found in .dwg files.

Sprinkler drawings will show fire pump requirements that we would monitor, waterflow and tamper switch locations.

Devices sold is simply to allow us to stay within the cost constraints for design. While we may need to add devices for code compliance, we want to know ahead of time that we can notify you of substantial changes that would negatively impact job profits.

We understand that these items are not always available and will work with you to make sure we are able to get as close as accurate as possible with the least amount of field changes.

I need a quote for a design, what all do you need to get started?

Go to our contact us page and fill out the information fields or send us an email directly to jborders@IgnisSystemDesign.com and use “Quote Request” as the subject line. Include your name, a rough estimate of the number of devices, and general building details such as approximate square feet, floor quantity, and jurisdiction. We will then send you a response with a dropbox link to which you can upload any take-off drawings or future files we may need. We use the model of “Trust but verify.” We will provide an estimate based on the information you provided but if it turns out that the device quantity is severely off we will requote the project and wait for a notice to proceed. Again, the initial count is approximate in good faith.
